Compassionate Counselling for Adults in Leicestershire

Counselling That Helps You Feel Heard, Supported & Understood

A Safe Space to Talk

Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, or simply need someone to talk to, counselling can give you the space to pause, reflect, and move forward. I offer compassionate, person-centred counselling support tailored to you - helping you feel heard, understood, and supported through life’s challenges in a safe, non-judgemental environment.

Break the patterns that keep showing up

My approach is person-centred at its core, grounded in humanistic values and a genuine curiosity about your lived experience. The therapeutic relationship is central to my work, offering a consistent and reflective space where experiences can be explored rather than rushed or managed. I work from a trauma-informed and relational perspective, with attention paid to early attachment patterns, unconscious processes, and the ways past relationships shape present difficulties.

While person-centred counselling remains the foundation of my work, my training in Clinical Hypnotherapy scaffolds my wider understanding and competence in the therapeutic space. This includes an awareness of embodied and subconscious processes, as well as the impact of early relational experiences, where these are relevant to the work we are doing together. These interventions can be incorporated as a standalone option, or used integratively, where they may serve the therapeutic process.

Who is it for

Counselling can be helpful for adults experiencing:

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Relationship difficulties

  • Grief

  • Trauma

  • Emotional disconnection

Some clients I support are insightful and reflective, yet find that awareness alone has not led to meaningful change.

What we work on
  • Nervous system regulation

  • Repeating relationship patterns

  • Identity and self-worth

  • Attachment wounds

  • Life direction and meaning

  • Subconscious beliefs rooted in earlier experiences

How it works
  • Weekly/fortnightly 50-minute sessions in a confidential setting

  • Exploration of current experiences, past influences and future direction, at a pace that feels steady and manageable

  • The therapeutic relationship becomes the foundation for deeper emotional processing

Client Reflections

BA - Leicester

“I’d worked with Ria for eight months, after initially reaching out when I was at a really low point and didn't know where to go. She was brilliant throughout. She is warm, understanding, and incredibly skilled at what she does. Ria created a space where I felt she genuinely listened to and supported me, and she has helped me enormously. I’d highly recommend her counselling services to anyone looking for compassionate and professional support."
