Child & Family Support
(COMING SOON)...

Parenting can feel confusing or heavy at times. You may notice your child struggling with big feelings, behaviour or confidence, and feel unsure how best to help. Child & Family therapeutic support offers structured, compassionate support for parents and carers experiencing relational strain, emotional dysregulation, behavioural challenges or breakdowns in communication. The focus is not on fixing a child, but on strengthening the relationship between the child and the adults caring for them, whether parents, carers or guardians.

Children’s behaviour makes sense in the context of their development, attachment experiences and nervous system responses. When these systems are under strain, families can become caught in repetitive cycles of conflict, withdrawal or escalation. This work creates a contained, reflective space to step out of those patterns and understand what is driving them.

Drawing on attachment theory, developmental psychology and relational approaches, I support caregivers to deepen their understanding of their child’s emotional world while also examining their own responses, triggers and relational history. This often includes exploring how you were parented or cared for, and how those early experiences may still shape your expectations, reactions and boundaries today. With awareness comes choice. Together, we work to repair what needs repairing, strengthen what is already working, and consciously interrupt generational patterns that no longer serve your family.

This Relational Repair programme is designed as a focused 6-week programme. Sessions are held fortnightly to allow time for reflection, integration and practice between meetings. I recommend committing to the full programme for meaningful and lasting change, experiencing the greatest benefit from the work. Alongside relational exploration, sessions include structured guidance and psychoeducation around nervous system regulation, attachment needs, emotional development and effective boundary-setting. The aim of our work together is not perfection, but increased confidence, steadiness and emotional security within the family system.

Who it is for

PCT may be helpful if:

  • Your child struggles with emotional regulation, anxiety or behavioural outbursts

  • You feel stuck in repetitive conflict or power struggles

  • Communication has broken down or feels strained

  • There has been a significant life transition such as separation, loss or school change

  • You are parenting a neurodivergent child and feel uncertain how best to support them

This work supports both the child and the parent. The focus is the relationship.

What we work on

  • Understanding your child’s emotional needs beneath behaviour

  • Strengthening secure attachment

  • Reducing reactive cycles within the home

  • Supporting parental confidence and consistency

  • Building healthier patterns of communication

Rather than isolating the child as the problem, we explore the relational system. Behaviour is understood within the context of connection, stress and developmental stage.

How it works

Sessions will include:

  • Space to reflect on patterns and responses

  • Handouts and/or reflective exercises

  • Practical relational exercises to strengthen connection

  • Psychoeducation around attachment and emotional regulation

The structure will depend on your family’s needs. The aim is to create a contained and safe space to slow down reactive dynamics and introduce steadier relational patterns.

Outcomes Clients Report

  • Improved emotional regulation within the child

  • Reduced conflict and escalation

  • Increased parental confidence and clarity

Change is gradual. The focus is sustainable relational repair rather than quick behavioural compliance.
